Whats Popular in the Youtube World

So I'm sure that most of you invisible people out there floating in the ocean known as the World Wide Web have come across a peculiar website called Youtube. And those of you that go onto Youtube quite often have probably heard of Nigahiga. And Kevjumba. And Ray William Johnson. Okay maybe RWJ not so much because all he does is review videos. Wow, that's a lot of Asian youtubers. Anyway, all these folks have something in common: one million views per video. (usually more) So all of these people have the most random, funny, and did I mention random videos? Hmm. I must say, that's actually kind of like this blog... Except we have not become quite as popular yet, (this may be a problem.) In other words, it you find this funny, share with your friends. (please...) Well anyways, back to youtube. People tend to post the most weird things in the comment section and i really don't want to get into that because it gets just downright strange. Anyway, there are a lot of really awesome youtubers out there like dailygrace and hishe that aren't necessarily asian. The only reasons asian youtubers got so much attention is that they can poke fun at themselves without anybody thinking that they are racist. So there you have it. The paradigm of youtubers and the people who comment.

Perks of Being a Wallflower

Ah the new sensational movie the Perks of Being a Wallflower has just recently come out, starring Emma Watson, and Logan Lerman, the actor behind the Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif film that was in no way shape or form like the book. (Oops, run on sentence.) Ah well then there is Ezra Miller who plays Patrick, the brother of Sam (Emma Watson). This was Emma Watson's first major movie after acting as the brilliant, beloved Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter Series. I personally found the Harry Potter movies to be scary (mainly scary for Vic. Jing loved them :D.) No offense, but I really did. Anyway I haven't seen the movie yet so I can't say what the Perks of Being a Wallflower is like compared to the book, so I'll give you guys a book review. It was decent. Awkward at some parts, ok at others. The main character is suicidal, you know, but after watching the trailer a million times, I found the character to be quite okay. Even though the movie was directed by the writer of both the book and the script, the movie still had some of those glitches and differences.

Using the Incorrect Homophone

I am going to they're party to see there cat over their. I fooled you!! Does this seem like someone you know or is it actually you who says this kind of stuff? Because if you do, then I feel sorry for you. Not only will your college essay look like a 7 year old wrote it, but you will be wallowing in eternal shame.

Back to the issue of college essays. The moment they see borded instead of boarded, the metaphorical cringe and tinge is placed into effect and then they're biased for the rest of the time that they're reading it. Now dont get me wrong, I don't really mind about this because I'm not the type of person who would get this stuff wrong in the first place. But let's say that I do and I'm in middle school, and am in currently advanced English. Then let's assume that I always mess up homophones and am failing. Don't be too surprised when the grade level recommendation that you get is for core. Oops.

Now remember, children: JUST DON'T MISSPELL YOU'RE DARN HOMOPHONES! Four they can determine your fate as a CEO of a major corporation known to the hole WORLD!!!! Or you could be a long suffering butler/waiter/intern/MacFatty's worker/anything that pays minimum wage all because you couldn't right the correct homophone.

QOD: What do YOU think about homophones? Post in the comments below. We love our comments.

Drama? In Middle School? HOW?!?!?!?

Okay, so those of you in middle school understand the craziness and confusion of a typical student. Okay, lets cut to the chase. ALL the drama is in the young love..... Oh how the blossoms of love bloom everywhere then shrivel up and DIE after 2 weeks. You see, anyone who dates at thirteen who thinks they "love" someone will probably get their heart broken in a few days judging by the fact that nothing lasts long when you're a teenager. (We only speak the truth)
As you all know a few days ago was Valentine's day, (not that we really care). And the drama rates in our schools have probably gone over the top. First of all we have the girls saying: Ooh! What did .... get for you? Awwwww! Isn't that just the cutest thing?!?! ^_^ When are you guys going to have your first kiss?
Then you have the guys saying(We apologize if our immitations are completely off): Hey man, so what are you gonna get your girlfriend. Ooh. Look at her! She's so hot!
Yeah........ You pretty much got the point. So there's all this gossip and everyone is all lovey, dovey, smooch, smooch.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
So.... let's give you a perspective of teenage life:
Person 1: reely sad 2day
Person 2: y?
Person 1: bf broke up w/ me.
Person 2: on Vday?
Person 1:yes!
Person 2:ok.....
what do u want me 2 do about it
Person 1: help me!
Person 2: i cant really............
Person 1: thanks alot, ur my best friend
Person 2: yep, every1 knows that alots are the best friends
Person 1: so...........WHAT SHOUD I DO????
Person 2: idk, get a life or get over him?
Person 1: but he's so frickin hot!

ok, u get the point. :)

You know how those kids start telling their friends about "going out" with their "girlfriends" or "boyfriends" . Well, before your pubescent years, you don't have a driver's permit which means you can't take that fancy Mercedes your parents have out for a spin by yourself. Instead, you have to endure about ten minutes of talk from a smiling father about how you ran around the yard stark naked when you were three because you didn't get the toy you wanted for your birthday.

So our QOD today is how did your first date go? And how long did it take them to dump you?

Harry Potter

Who out there surfing on the World Wide Web is in LOVE with Harry Potter? If you do then good for you! If you haven't read it yet, then go to the library or Barnes and Noble RIGHT NOW and get a copy to READ!!!! Don't cheat by watching the movies first, I'm watching you..... ^_^
So...............
Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe)  goes to Hogwarts he meets Ron Weasly (Rubert Grint) and Hermoine Granger (Emma Watson). They meet Hagrid (idk who plays him) you get the idea. My point is, the thing went from a story on a napkin to a bestseller to the big screen and brought in millions of dollars. What a hayride for JK Rowling.

Now for some of THE most HILARIOUS scenes.

Hermione Punching Malfoy!

Ron in Dress Robes

Practice Dance

Hermione Meets Krum

Yule Ball

Harry Meets Ron and Hermione

Hermione's First Spell

This list of videos could go on forever but we won't keep you here.

Stereotypes

Stereotypes.... These are the comments that you would just about hear EVERY single day. As chinese kids, we (Vic and Jing) tend to hear quite a few: Why are you so good at math?
And so on. But there are also other stereotypes.

For the Asians:
Good at math
Always plays either piano, violin/cello, and flute
Poses in pictures
Has a TON of stuffed animals
Like fashion (in some cases)
Has a ton of bags and purses
Poor drivers
Doctors
Has glasses for boys, contacts for girls (unless you like looking smart instead of fashionable)

For the British:
Awesome at acting (Kate Winslet, Emma Watson, Rusell Crowe, Rupert Grint?)
Uptight and proper
Plays Croquet and Polo
Impeccable English
You have tea and crumpets at four o' clock every afternoon

For the Americans:
Burger King every meal
Superbowl
Yankees

Yeah you get the point. OH! Guess what? SUPERBOWL IS TODAY!!! Check out our poll to vote for who you want to win!!!
